Up for sale is a Dell Vostro 420 desktop. The front bezel was broken, so it has been removed. This does not affect the functionality of the unit, however. Has a 550 Watt power supply, 3 GB of memory, a 500 GB HDD, and Windows 7 64-bit home premium genuine license. Has a demo of Jaws installed. Works great. Selling because I want to pay for a Duxbury upgrade. Thanks. The processor is an Intel Quad-core E8200 2.33 GHZ.
ddr2 memry?
I'd have to look up the specs and get back with you.
The E8200 is a dual core 2.66GHZ part. Machine will most likely have DDR2 667MHZ.
Thanks for your help. I believe with a Bios update, the machine will support a maximum of 8 GB, and storage up to 2 TB. Like I said, it needs a replacement bezel for the front--but that's it. Computer was used when I got it for free, but I only had to replace the power supply and the hard drive to get it working again. If you want it, it's still available. I can accept Paypal for payment. I'll include a power cord, and if necessary, a keyboard. If you need a mouse, I can probably find one. I can also remove Jaws and install NVDA for you if preferred. Jaws is a demo, anyway. Fresh install of Win 7 64-bit, no MS office. Thanks. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
Here are the specifications. It sounds like a great machine, with lots of speed and decent ram. But it says nothing about cd/dvd rom, and it doesn't have ps/2 ports for keyboard and mouse. If I bought it, I could use my Model M keyboard with a usb adapter, as I'm doing now, but that shouldn't really be necessary on a desktop. Plus, it's Windows 7 64bit, which tends to annoy me. But the price is excellent. I hope you find a buyer. *smile*

It does have PS2 connections and a CD/DVDRW drive.
That's a good thing! Does it have a parallel port for printing?
Yes, it does. I'll double check for you tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it does.
No parallel port, only serial.
who uses parallel? thought everything was either USB-bassed or wireless for printing.
Not sure. Think they were used in print printers along time ago.
